Science of Nutrition

The 8 week Science of Nutrition & Healthy Eating Course developed my knowledge of the following topics:

  • demonstrate and understand how food is processed and then used in the body
  • apply knowledge to understand healthy eating advice and identify how it varies in different countries
  • make sense of food labels and perform calculations of energy in food
  • describe and know about food allergies and intolerances

Clean Sport Advisor

The programme was split into four core modules, explaining the principles of clean sport and essential anti-doping information with the role of the Advisor linked throughout.

British Triathlon Level 2 Triathlon Coaching

Following the Level 2 course I am able to:

  • Plan, deliver and review engaging, performance improvement sessions.
  • Evaluate participant performances.
  • Create periodised and progressive plans.
  • Safely deliver session across a range of environments including open water.
  • Work with others when creating plans and delivering sessions.

The Psychological aspects of Sports Injury

Following the Psychological aspects to Sports Injury course, I am able to:

  • Understand how social support and goal setting can enhance sport injury rehabilitation
  • Identify different strategies for coping with sport injury

Safeguarding Adults

Through completing the course I discovered how to identify when an adult needs safeguarding and how to take appropriate and effective action to:

  • Support the welfare of all adults at your sessions.
  • Recognise abuse and potential signs of abuse.
  • Gain insight into how to manage and deal with safeguarding concerns by following the four ‘Rs’ of safeguarding.
  • Recognise Poor practice
  • Think about creating positive, safe environments for the people at your sessions.
  • Learn the six principles of safeguarding adults
